Champion Sixers to return to SCG in BBL10
Claiming the BBL09 title at the Sydney Cricket Ground in February, the Sydney Sixers will go in search of back-to-back championships when returning to the SCG for six bumper matches this summer.
The Sixers are set to open their season in a meeting with the Hobart Hurricanes (December 4) before welcoming the Melbourne-based Renegades (December 19) and Stars (December 27) to the SCG in the matches to follow.
Perth Scorchers will then venture east for the first BBL10 match of the New Year (January 11), with games against the Adelaide Strikers (January 19) and a Sydney Smash showdown with the Thunder (January 25) rounding out the side's regular season home matches.
The five-match BBL10 Finals series has been retained, with the Final to be played on Saturday February 6, 2021. Dates of the other Finals series matches will be released as they are locked in towards the end of the competition.
“Scheduling in the time of coronavirus is not without its challenges, as we have seen in elite sporting conditions at home and abroad, and there are factors outside the League itself which could impact the fixture at a later date," Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia Head of Big Bash Leagues, said.
“That said, at this time, we are happy with the fixture as it stands and excited to celebrate a decade of Big Bash with Australian fans during the summer.
“We will also be making more announcements in due course about enhancements to the League that we are confident will excite and delight fans across the country.”
