2020 Grand Final moved to ANZ Stadium

The NRL and the NSW government has today announced that the 2020 NRL grand final will be moved from the SCG to ANZ Stadium, agreeing to allow a crowd capacity of 40,000 for the premiership decider.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SCG was originally slated to host the first NRL decider at the ground since 1987 in what would have been a celebrated return for the game to rugby league’s original home.

The NRL’s decision to move the game to Sydney Olympic Park will allow for the most amount of fans to attend the game after the NSW Government announced that major venues can allow for up to 50 per cent capacity at events from October 1.

"This year will be a historic grand final day. The teams competing would have overcome all challenges in front of them and we will experience the culmination of a season like no other,” NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said.

"ANZ Stadium is the biggest venue in NSW and that means more of our fans will be able to experience grand final day live.

"We can't wait to see 40,000 fans at the venue. Our fans have been so patient and loyal throughout the season and having crowd caps increase for the Finals Series is the perfect way to acknowledge that loyalty."

FOR TICKET HOLDERS & SCG MEMBERS

All tickets purchased by the public or members during the original pre-sale in March will today receive confirmation from Ticketek regarding a refund.

Tickets purchased by credit or debit card will be refunded in full (including ticket insurance premium or refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) and SCG members do not need to take any action. Please allow approximately 20 working days for the refund to appear in their account.

If the credit or debit card used in the transaction has been permanently closed/cancelled or the card has expired, supply Ticketek with updated bank details here.

Members do not have access to the event as part of their yearly membership, with similar arrangements in place to other concerts and special events.

Members will however have access to a new presale from 4pm on September 30 with details to be sent via email.
