New Year's Test: All you need to know

The biggest event on the NSW sporting calendar returns to the SCG from January 3 as Australia and India renew their longstanding rivalry at the ground.

Tim Paine’s men will look to salvage some pride from the series after India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Melbourne.

If you're making the trip to the SCG, please take note of this important game day information. We hope you can join us for the annual New Year’s Test.

Members gates open: 7am (days one to three), 8am (days four and five)
Public gates open: 8.30am (days one to three), 9.30am (days four and five)
Play starts: 10.30am (subject to weather)

We’re expecting a large crowd for this event so please pre-purchase your tickets via Ticketek to avoid missing out. If you have special seating requirements such as wheelchair access or require companion seating, please call Ticketek on 1300 665 915.

Tuesday, January 1: Australia (8.30am-12.30pm) and India (8.30am-12.30pm)
Wednesday, January 2: India (9am-1pm) and Australia (12.30pm-5pm)
All entry is via Gate A on Driver Avenue. Training sessions are subject to change.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and use public transport options. Moore Park is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride from Central Station. Please note that special event buses (route one) no longer run from Chalmers Street at Central Station.

Because of light rail construction, shuttle buses now depart via Eddy Avenue. Return services operate for approximately one hour after each event. All public transport schedule information from surrounding Sydney suburbs is available at https://transportnsw.info/

The SCG is working closely with key stakeholders to improve transport, circulation and traffic in the precinct, which includes a reconfiguration of Moore Park east and the construction of a new bus terminal over the next six months.

Moore Park event shuttle buses will now drop off and pick up from the northern end of Driver Avenue. Signage, wayfinding signage and bus marshals will be on site to assist with the change. This may cause some delays to fans accessing the MP1 or EP2 car parks.

MP1: Located on Driver Avenue, accessible via Moore Park Road, $15 until the allocation is exhausted (gold and platinum members only)
EP2: Located on Driver Avenue, accessible via Moore Park Road, $25
EP3: Located on Driver Avenue, accessible via Lang Road, $25
Entertainment Quarter: Accessible via Lang Road, $25
Sydney Boys and Girls High School: Accessible via Anzac Parade, $25

Remember to wear pink and donate generously on day three of the Test to raise valuable funds for the McGrath Foundation, which supports the placement of breast care nurses across Australia.

There are a range of new public food and beverage options available including Doyles Seafood (Level 1 of Victor Trumper Stand), 4 Pines Bar (Level 1 of Bill O’Reilly) and Malabar Indian Cuisine (Churchill concourse).

Free wi-fi is now available across the entire SCG venue. Simply search ‘SCG’ in your phone settings and follow the prompts to connect.

The new and improved SCG app is your game day companion, providing access to event updates, maps, live support and much more.

The SCG and Cricket Australia have strict conditions of entry, click here for a full list of requirements. Fans are reminded that large bags and prams should be small enough to fit under your seat.
