U2: The Joshua Tree Tour

Irish supergroup U2 will join one of the most exclusive clubs in the entertainment world when they play a concert at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 22 in front of a sell-out crowd, including special guests Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds confirmed as a support act.

It will be the first stand-alone concert on the SCG field of play since Sound Relief in 2009 and sees U2 join a long list of decorated acts to have performed at the venue including Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Prince and Bruce Springsteen.

The Joshua Tree Tour will be a celebration of the band’s seminal album and a night that promises a very special performance from 'the biggest band in the world'.

“It’s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it’s great to be able to say that I’ve finally caught up with the band,'' lead singer Bono mused.

''Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion … From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging.''

''It’s quite a ride. And now we get to do it all over again,” Bono added.
