Super Rugby AU

Super Rugby AU: NSW Waratahs v Queensland Reds

We’re looking forward to welcoming a limited number of ticketholders to the SCG in line with current COVID-19 health advice and Government regulations.

Ticket eligibility and registration information will be communicated to selected ticketholders by the Sydney Cricket & Sports Grounds and NSW Waratahs.

Please note that membership cards will NOT permit entry to this event.

Your game day experience may be a little different to usual as we’ve put a number of measures in place to ensure our events are as safe as possible.

As fans, you also have an important role to play in supporting the SCG’s COVID-19 Safety Plan. This will help to keep our community safe and will assist with planning for larger crowds in the future.

A COVID-Safe SCG

A COVID-Safe SCG

We’ve put a number of measures in place to ensure our events are as safe as possible, and you also have an important role to play in supporting the SCG’s COVID-19 Safety Plan.

  • Please stay home if you’re feeling unwell, have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days, have returned from Victoria or overseas in the past 14 days, or have attended one of the following locations during the dates detailed by the NSW Government at this link – including but not limited to the Crossroads Hotel: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates
  • High-level hygiene is crucial. Wash or sanitise your hands regularly, cough and sneeze into your elbow, and correctly dispose of any tissues. We’ll also be implementing additional cleaning, hygiene and waste management measures, particularly in high-contact areas
  • Practise physical distancing when entering, navigating and exiting the SCG. To assist with this, we’ve increased the distance between ticket scanners and seats, including empty rows between ticketholders, and reduced the overall capacity of the SCG in line with current regulations.
  • You must sit in the section and row listed on your ticket(s). Choose any seat in your row and sit with your group – just keep two seats empty between other groups.
  • Stay in your seat even in the event of inclement weather – plan ahead and bring your poncho.
  • You’ll need to consume any food and beverage in your seat.
  • All food and beverage sales will be via contactless card-only payment to help reduce queues and cash handling.
  • Minimise the number and size of bags you bring to the game for a more seamless entry – try leaving them at home if possible. There will be no cloaking available so double check our Conditions of Entry before leaving for the game.
  • Please follow our COVID-19 signage and the directives of staff at all times. Our staff are here to help and they’re looking forward to welcoming you to the SCG.
  • Some activations such as kick-to-kick and player autographs will be unavailable during this time
  • We strongly encourage you to download and activate the COVIDSafe app on your phone before departing for the game.

Getting to and from the SCG

Getting to and from the SCG

Nearby paid parking is available at the Entertainment Quarter car park and the Showground Field grass car park on the southern end of Driver Ave. Fans are encouraged to allow extra time for parking as traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct.

If you’re travelling by taxi or rideshare, use Errol Flynn Blvd or Driver Ave for the drop off locations. After the game, roads around the stadium will be busy so consider a pick-up location outside of the precinct.

Fans travelling by public transport are reminded that services continue to operate at a reduced capacity to maintain physical distancing across the network. Allow plenty of additional travel time and plan ahead by checking real-time capacity indicators where available as you may need to wait for the next service with available physical distancing capacity.

Light rail services and shuttle buses will run regularly between Central and Moore park to get you to and from the venue however due to reduced capacity queues may be lengthy, so fans are strongly encouraged to consider walking via Devonshire St and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times.

Remember to practise physical distancing when on-board transport services and to look for the ‘green dots’ to find the safest places to sit or stand. Wearing a face mask while travelling on public transport is also strongly recommended. Additional measures and staff will be in place around key transport hubs to safely manage crowds arriving and leaving the game so be patient, practise physical distancing in queues and follow the directions of staff on site.
