Day two: Australia v New Zealand

It is a match 34 years in the making, and the build up to the New Year's Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground is likely to be huge.

It is no coincidence that the resurgent Black Caps from New Zealand have been rewarded with a return visit to play in one of Australian sports most coveted fixtures.

Most of the Australian team were not even born the last time Australia took on NZ in the same fixture, and the marvellous sporting rivalry between the two nations will be on display via every shot made, every speedy delivery, catch taken or bellowing appeal. 

Day One is expected to be a capacity crowd as Kane Williamson's men arrive and attempt to have the last word over the Aussies in the three Test summer series.

One of Australian cricket's favourite sons and current Australian coach, Justin Langer, whose Test match heroics are legendary, will have no trouble imparting what this match means to his players and the local crowd of boisterous fans.

The five day Test match period at the SCG has developed into one of the world's great sporting festivals, highlighted by the McGrath Foundation Pink Day Three. The entire precinct will be alive with entertainment, amazing food and beverage options and of course some world class cricket.

Public transport is advised as crowds will be at a premium, with trains, buses and taxis all in abundance through the five-day event.
