The Sydney Cricket and Sports Grounds is excited to announce the reopening of its iconic behind-the-scenes tour from Friday October 30, 2020.

In the first phase of our reopening, tours will be operating on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11.00am and by request for group and private tours.

Guests will still have the opportunity to tread the path of champions and create memorable experiences, but each step taken will be in a COVID-safe environment.

We would like to reassure you, the safety of our patrons is our number one priority. We will be operating the tour strictly under the guidelines of the NSW Government.

The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Guided Walking Tour is a fascinating journey behind the scenes of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Grounds and exclusive access to the SCG Museum. As Sydney's home of sport, the SCG is where international and domestic sporting heroes play cricket, rugby union, rugby league, football, Australian Football League (AFL). Perfect for all sporting enthusiasts and Sydney tourists, young and young at heart. 

Hear entertaining stories of players, spectators, events and indulge in the rich history of one of Sydney's most iconic venues. Journey behind the scenes as you take in the splendour of the architecture, heritage and ambience of the SCG. An unforgettable experience for locals, international visitors and sports fans.

Kindly note, there are no cloakroom facilities at the SCG. If you are travelling, we encourage you to please leave large backpacks and suitcases at your accommodation or make alternative arrangements for your luggage.

Getting to the SCG

The SCG Tour is easily accessible by light rail, train, bus or on foot.

The new light rail Moore Park stop is conveniently located just a short walk from the SCG.

Many public buses run via nearby Anzac Parade and Oxford Street (corner of Oatley Rd) The Big Bus Tours, Bondi route has a nearby stop on Oxford Street at Paddington Town Hall (corner of Ormond St, opposite Oatley Rd).

Jump off the train and enjoy a 20-minute walk from Museum Station or Central, or catch a bus from either Central, Town Hall or Museum Stations.

Paid parking is available at the nearby Entertainment Quarter (EQ) in the SCG precinct and metered parking available on Driver Avenue (on non-event days).

Upon your arrival

Tour guests should arrive 15 minutes before the tour and present their tickets to the friendly SCG staff at Gate A. On receipt of tickets a wristband will be issued to each tour participant, which we kindly ask you to wear at all times during the tour. 

Tours leave promptly at the allocated start time, therefore we cannot guarantee late arrivals will be accommodated for and may miss the tour. If you cannot arrive on time please call (02) 9380 0377 or (02) 9360 6601. 

The SCG Guided Walking Tour makes every endeavour to ensure tour activities run to schedule, however we reserve the right to alter the tour route or cancel tours at any time for any reasonable circumstances, including events, site activities and severe inclement weather.

Our experienced tour guides can tailor the commentary and focal points of the Private Group Guided Walking Tour to meet the educational, special interests and/or physical needs of your specific group.

A range of catering options are available for group tour bookings, ranging from the Lawn Kiosk options, right up to the elegant Bespoke fine dining. Depending on your budget and preferences. 

Pricing and availability is subject to confirmation upon advanced booking, prior to your tour. 

Group leaders and teachers requiring a copy of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Grounds public liability certificate should contact the tour coordinator.

We are relying on your assistance to keep our tour COVIDSafe. 

If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath or fever), please delay your visit to the SCG Tour, instead seek medical advice and avoid contact with others.

Unfortunately, if you do arrive at the SCG Tour with flu like symptoms, you may be refused entry. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

Similarly, if you have had close contact with persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for results of a test for COVID-19, we ask you to delay your tour.
