Women's teams back on the park after two wash outs
After two weekends of wash outs, our Women's First and Second Grade finally got back out on the field for some much anticipated game time. First Grade were unable to topple Northern Districts at Drummoyne Oval in their Round 4 clash. After winning the toss, the Tigers posted 8/164 at the conclusion of their 50 overs, with skipper Kate Jackson top scoring with 46. Kate was well supported by wicketkeeper Alexandra Tims (25), Naomi McDonald (14) and Ahilya Chandel (14). Unfortunately 164 was not enough, with Northern Districts chasing the total down with 7 wickets in hand. The 3 wickets were shared by Synetta Manns, Kate Jackson and Jodie Hicks.
After sending Bankstown in to bat at Ryde Oval, Second Grade managed to bowl them out for 90 in an excellent display of bowling. The wickets were shared around with Lily Campbell 3/12 off 5 overs. Lily was aided by the bowling efforts of Sophia Hadwen, Kylie Hocknell and Caitlin Caldwell, who all claimed 2 wickets apiece. Unfortunately the Tigers went down in this low scoring contest, being bowled out for 77 despite the best efforts of opening batsman Annapurna Mukherjee who top scored with 20.
The Tigers have an opportunity to turn their fortunes around next Sunday against Gordon, with First Grade playing at Chatswood Oval and Second Grade playing at Ryde Oval.
