Women's First Grade finish season on a high
Sunday saw the final Women's First Grade regular season fixture played, with the Tigers unfortunately not qualifying for finals despite defeating Penrith. At Birchgrove Oval, the Tigers won the toss and sent Penrith in to bat. The Tigers dismissed Penrith for a 132, with Ananaya Sharma continuing her good form with the ball this season to claim 3/15 off 9.4 overs. In reply, the Tigers chased the target inside 37 overs, thanks largely to Naomi McDonald's 75no off 91 balls at the top of the order. Despite not making the finals, the victory over Penrith saw the girls finish the season on a high!
At Asquith Oval, Brewer Shield took on Northern District. After winning the toss and batting first, the Tigers were dismissed for just 60, with only two players reaching double figures. In reply, the Tigers got close to claiming victory as Northern District reached the target 7 wickets down. Laura Metry was a standout in a losing side claiming 4/19 off 7 overs.
At Ryde Oval, the U15s won the toss and opted to bowl first against Universities, who posted 9/133 at the conclusion of their 35 over innings. Daisy Webster was by far the pick of the bowlers, picking up 5/9 in an outstanding display of bowling! In reply, the Tigers were unable to chase the target to finish 5/119 at the end of the 35 overs, with Skye Halmarick (25) and Hayley Zauch (23) the top contributors to the innings.
