Green Shield go down in QF thriller
Unfortunately our young Green Shield Tigers have gone down in a nail biting quarter final at Hurstville Oval against Blacktown. Winning the toss and batting first, the Tigers posted a strong total of 5/202 at the end of the 50 overs. Skipper Lachie Shaw (97) led from the front, falling agonisingly short of a century in a knock consisting of 9 fours and 1 six. Lachie Ball provided strong support from the other end in the 149 run stand with the skipper, finishing 73no. In reply, an unbeaten century to the Blacktown skipper ensured they got over the line on the second last ball! Left arm quick Ellis Sherriff (2/40) continued his wicket taking form, claiming 2 of the 6 Blacktown wickets to fall throughout the innings.
Despite being unfortunately knocked out in the quarter finals, the season was a positive one with the emergence of young Tiger talent exciting for the future of Sydney Cricket Club.
