Gordon topple the Tigers in Women's Competition
At Chastwood Oval on Sunday, the Women's First Grade side went down to Gordon in a tough encounter. The Tigers batted first and were dismissed for 181, with Naomi McDonald top scoring with 40. Synetta Manns continued her strong start to the season with the ball claiming 2/37. Naomi McDonald backed up her good knock with the bat by claiming a wicket also.
Second Grade also went down in a difficult encounter at Ryde Oval. The Tigers restricted Gordon to 7/232 off their 50 overs with Alexandra Mueller claiming 3/41 off her 1- overs in a good display of bowling. Alexandra was well supported by Kylie Hocknell (2/39) throughout the bowling innings. The Tigers were then dismissed for 57 in reply, with Kylie Hocknell backing up her strong performance with ball by top scoring at the top of the order with (27). A disappointing day for the Tigers, but many lessons learned.
The focus for the Women's squad now shifts to the T20 format, the competition commencing this coming Sunday. The Tigers take on Universities Blue at Alan Davidson Oval in what should be an exciting encounter.
