Brewer Shield victory, whilst Women's T20 go down

The young Brewer Shield Tigers recorded a strong victory against Northern District Gold on Sunday, whilst the Women's T20 squad went down in a tough loss to Gordon Blue.

At Ryde Oval, the young Brewer Shield side reached 6/188 at the conclusion of their 40 overs, with Samira Dimeglio continuing her strong form with the bat top scoring with 73 off 94 balls. Samira was well supported by Olivia Maxwell who notched up a run-a-ball half-century (54no) in helping the Tigers reach the strong total. In reply, Northern District Gold lost wickets at regular intervals with Sophia Hadwen (2/6 off 6 overs) and Eva Ragg (2/12) taking charge with the ball in restricting the opposition to 9/140. A strong win for the young Tigers sees the Brewer Shield team sit 2nd in the Sixers conference.

The morning T20 fixture at Drummoyne Oval on Sunday saw the Women's T20 squad go down to Gordon Blue. Gordon reached 2/154 off their 20 overs, with Emma Felsch and Ahilya Chandel claiming the 2 scalps. In rely, the Tigers were dismissed for 63 to unfortunately lose the game. The Women's T20 squad now sit middle of the table in 7th position.
